Realm Deviant: Goblin Mode
Need sound effects or Gameboy music for your game? If you get in touch, I can help you with that.
Long ago, powerful guardians maintained the balance between the realms of the living and the dead. Eventually, their order was destroyed by those seeking to harness death's power. The balance began to deteriorate and soon, monsters from the dead realm killed off the remaining guardians. Centuries later, dark mages went after death's power once again and after a ritual gone very wrong, ressurected The Guardian of Might, Boris.
In a strange world where the veil between life and death has grown thin, you play as Boris. Unlike other revenants who are completely bound to serve those who raised them, Boris has retained some free will due to the dark mages getting the resurrection ritual wrong. Now caught between both the living and dead realms, Boris discovers a growing imbalance threatening both realms and must use the unique situation to restore realm balance.
In this demo, explore a graveyard and forest in both living and dead realms, dodge evil knights, skeletons, and rats, set lost spirits free, collect potions to gain power, and bring your buddy Frank some beer to travel between realms. But don't touch the floating whisps in the living realms or you'll have a rougher time getting out of the dead realms.

Neat little platformer. I like the backstory and music.
The terrain can be tough to read, as in what is a wall and what is not. It all kind of blends together. Horizontal control is a bit slippery and takes a while to slow down and the jump feels heavy on the way up
Also feels a bit unfair that enemies can still hurt you as they're dying.
well done! I liked the cutscenes at the beginning. Gameplay reminded me of old games like gargoyles.
a little dark and hard to see in the realm of the dead. Controls felt a little janky with the hover and double jumps.
Nice game and really nice soundtrack!
